What Does a Citizen Do?

What does it mean to be an American citizen? Is there more to it than reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the national anthem? Whether they're paying their taxes or protesting for change, the average American is more than a mere citizen, they are actively involved in shaping the country in big and small ways, on a daily basis.
