Poetry Basics

Poetry need not be complicated. In fact, some of the most time-honored forms of this creative writing style are intended largely for children. This series combines colourful illustrations with accessible example poems and fundamental analysis to introduce readers to the simplicity of haiku, humour of limericks, “music” of nursery rhymes, and imaginative forms of concrete poetry. Each book concludes with “Think Like a Poet” exercises to encourage hands-on experimentation.
